IBM Launches BladeCenter Express Bus

By ChannelTimes Staff
Mumbai, Jun 19, 2009 1509 hrs IST

IBM has launched the IBM Blade Center Express Bus in New Delhi with the goal to reach out effectively to its customers, existing and potential. The BladeCenter Express Bus is equipped with the latest BladeCenter S Chassis, a datacenter in a box (integrating servers, storage and networking all into one box), and the new HS22 Blade Server. The Blade Center Express Bus will showcase via a live demonstration, the benefits of the BladeCenter family and the advantages of the IBM BladeCenter Portfolio and its management features.

The BladeCenter S 'datacenter in a box' is easy to deploy and runs on standard office power. As per this company, this is ideal for SMB customers looking for a one-stop IT Infra solution and for enterprise customers looking to deploy IT for remote branches.

Migrating from older rack and blade servers to the new HS22 blade servers can result in up to 93 percent saving on energy costs, the company claimed. Also, the HS22 Blade server's enhanced memory footprint makes it ideal for customers wanting to run virtualized workloads and SAP workloads.

IBM Blade Center Express Bus will be in Delhi for the entire month of June where in it will travel to customer locations for demonstrations. IBM will effectively leverage its robust business partner network to take this innovative concept to its clients.

Commenting on this launch, Ajay Mittal, Country Manager, System x, IBM India/ South Asia, said, "The Blade Center Express Bus is our attempt to be closer to our customers and partners and educate them on the benefits of our BladeCenter platform. This is a first of its kind initiative where we will work closely with our business partners to demonstrate the value that IBM brings especially in times where budgets are tight and customers are looking at greater return on their investments."

IBM Blade Center Express Bus is also scheduled to travel to NCR, Chandigarh and neighboring towns in the coming months.
