By
ChannelTimes Staff
Mumbai, Jun 17, 2008
IBM today named Supertron Electronics as its national distributor for the server range of products. Aligning with its strategy of up-country focus, this tie-up will allow IBM to reach out to a larger segment of Tier-II partners.
It may be recalled that Supertron Electronics is one of the leading IT products distribution and service providers in India. Power consumption and thermal loads are increasing every day -- a challenge that calls for new combination of hardware, software, and processors. With IBM technology -- a comprehensive portfolio of solutions combining efficiency, planning, and control -- IBM is meeting this challenge.
The company provides smart, new product, and data center designs to control and monitor the systems' power and heat requirements.
Mukul Mathur, director (Channels & Marketing), IBM India/South Asia said, "Supertron comes with deep penetration in non-metro locations. They have a very sound distribution structure to address the challenges faced by partners in C&D class locations. This partnership will go a long-way to help address the channel needs to source IBM products and help address real customer problems in these locations."
V K Bhandari, CMD, Supertron Electronics said, "IBM servers feature an unmatched combination of performance and scalability with a balanced design. They also have an outstanding commercial application serving and database performance. With our proven distribution muscle, we hope that this alliance will help more and more clients manage expanding business needs."
