Mumbai, Aug 21, 2007
To help enable box pushers turn into complete solution providers, Intel has launched its Managed Services Provider (MSP) initiative to provide channels training on remote diagnosis and management of infrastructure.
Rajesh Gupta, director (Sales and Marketing) of Intel South Asia, at the inaugural session of the training program, said, "This has been done keeping in mind the fact that improving asset management is a critical requirement for IT managers.
Furthermore, he said that the first phase of this initiative is already underway with 11 partners drawn from Indore, Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Bhopal, and Pune. Partners have been chosen on the basis of a number of parameters that includes technical skill sets and installed customer base along with sub-vertical specialization. According to him, MSPs bring the benefit of remote management to a vast number of customers at a very affordable price. By enabling channel partners to offer managed services, benefits of this technology will be available to Small and Medium Enterprises (SMBs) across India.
Biren Selarka from Acma Computers, Mumbai said that he's happy that Intel is undertaking such an initiative for channel partners. The training will equip them with more skills and help in offering customers a complete solution.
The new initiative is expected to help partners take a drive toward creating new revenue stream. This initiative will be supported by Ottawa-based N-Able Technologies.
