Intel Unveils Desktop Sols for Channel Partners

Intel has come up with 3 desktop solutions for its channel customers. These solutions - the IntelDesktop Board DX38BT, Intel System Defense Utility, and the Intel Desktop Board D201GLY2 - were unveiled to meet the users' needs for manageability and performance at the desktop.
Introducing the solutions, Tom Rampone, vice president (Sales and Marketing Group) of Intel, and general manager of Channel Platforms Group, stated, "The push to increase more choice in desktop offerings is aligned with what IT managers are asking for, as they continue to embrace desktops for its competitive price-performance factor."
The first of the 3 offerings unveiled was the Intel Desktop Board DX38BT for the Intel Extreme Series. The motherboard provides native support for coming Intel45nm microprocessors as well as for shipping processors. It has an official front side bus speed of 1333 MHz. and is expected to be a key component for workstation class system builders.
IntelDesktop Board D201GLY2 was unveiled catering to the growing desktop processors shipment in the emerging markets. The CPU motherboard assembly solution is for the high-growth, low-price segment of the PC desktop market. This solution is required to build a system that delivers basic computing needs - including email and Internet access, instant messaging, and VoIP - in an aggressive price-performance package. The solution allows end-users to own a fully-featured PC solution.
For resellers looking for new margin opportunities in the SMB segment, the IntelSystem Defense Utility was introduced. Exclusive to the Intel Desktop Boards Executive Series, the tool allows customers to configure and manage their Intel vPro Processor Technology-based PCs easily. The utility provides out-of-box security capability and on-site manageability. Furthermore, it allows a user or a service provider to increase security by setting network policies, updating anti-spoofing policies, and blocking certain services.
