Intex Focuses On Service & Channel Expansion

By ChannelTimes Staff
Mumbai, Dec 27, 2006

Intex Technologies, the IT hardware manufacturer, would focus on B&C category cities with an expansion of its existing channel base. The company will gear up its service support to enhance the after-sales service and channels support. "We have increased the number of service centers from 36 to 51 already and aim for about 80 service branches by 2007," said Pankaj Dubey, GM-sales and marketing, Intex.

"We are looking to tap about 100-plus partners especially from the tier II cities, our primary focus zone," added Dubey. Believing that there is tremendous scope to increase market share in such deeper pockets with more potential, it intends to shift focus to such B&C category cities, particularly with its Reseller Business Development Meet (RBDM).

Intex plans to identify new channel partners with good networking and deeper penetration to focus on the PC and notebook category.

Strengthening its South Gujarat focus with its RBDM in Vapi and Valsad recently, the company officials describe the meet as an endeavor to tread further in the tier II and III cities'. It initiated the western India channel development program - RBDM - to tap the B class cities like Jabalpur, Bilaspur, Vapi, Valsad, Baldoli and Navsari, among others.

"Intex aims to brighten sales prospects through quality offerings and strong service support," said Deepak Kabu, RSM-west, Intex Technologies. He further opined, "Intex values the support of its channel partners in its steady performance and intensifies its channel development endeavors."

Dubey further said, We have been planning a lot of such channel programs of late that provide us with an opportunity to get closer to our resellers and dealers."

Pulling more than 80 channel partners, RBDM resulted in a discussion with company officials on its business plans and practices. A product introduction and enrichment program was also conducted through a showcase of Intex's current and upcoming offerings in peripherals, PCs and entertainment electronics - its new range of wide screen TFT-LCD monitors, desktops and notebooks, among others.

Intex clocks a CAGR of 54 percent in four years and offers product range from PCs, notebooks, peripherals, etc through its network of more than 700 distributors and 12,000 resellers.
What do you think of Intex's expansion plans?
