Kingston Aims to Increase its Market Share
By
Yuga Chaudhari
Mumbai, Aug 3, 2007
Kingston Technology, which recently completed 1 year in the Indian market, looks forward to capturing 15 to 20% of the market share in the memory business by the end of 2007.
Talking about company's new plans, Rajesh Panicker, country manager of Kingston Technology, India said, "For the span of 1 year, our focus was mainly towards establishing the market in the 5 metros. Now we plan to penetrate Tier II and Tier III cities as well."
He further said that there's a huge potential in the regional market, and that tapping this market will further help the company achieve its desired goal. Currently, the vendor has listed 15 to 20 cities in which it foresees good business opportunity. The company plans to target cities like Pune, Goa, Nagpur, Indore, Chandigarh, Siliguri, Kochi, and others.
To avoid any service related issues, Kingston will have pickup points in all the Tier II and Tier III cities that it's targeting. Further, the company also plans to increase the number of its channel partners in all the regions. "Following the Regional Distribution (RD) model, Kingston has different set of channel strategies for different regions depending on the market demand," said Panicker. Currently the company has 3 to 4 RDs in place across all 4 regions of India.
Further sharing his views on Kingston's completion of 1 year in India, Panicker said that initially their strategies were concentrated towards establishing the brand. Today, Kingston is witnessing "higher acceptability among end customers and channel partners". In 2008, Kingston plans to adopt a more customer-focused business approach.

NO WAY
Ton Increase market share the product has to be available in the market at international prices (plus legitimate duties and taxes).
I have been searching for Kingston RAM (2 x 1 GB Pack 800/1066 Mhz) for the last one month in Mumbai. NO ONE has it , not even 1GB 800 Mhz sticks.
This has become the bare basic for any new comp and they dont even have it ?
Put something on the shelves if you want to increase mkt share.
BTW their indian contact nos. are all wrong on their website .. HAHAHA. |

Kingston cannot make it... There is 50% fake Kingston in the market and all the dealers of Kingston are selling fake as well as Kingston original. There is Rs. 10 margin in original and Rs. 75 in Duplicate. So selling Duplicate memory is profitable. |
