Kingston Partners Spyrus to Secure DataTraveler

Kingston Digital, the flash memory affiliate of Kingston Technology, has tied up with advanced hardware-based encryption provider Spyrus for its new DataTraveler USB drives The new DataTraveler USB drives will be targeted at enterprises and government agencies which require solutions that can secure confidential data, are not intrusive for the end-user and comply with information security standards.
Spyrus manufactures and develops advanced hardware-based encryption, authentication, and digital content security products. The 'Secured by Spyrus' DataTraveler flash drives will guard against cyber crimes, cyber thefts and even data loss.
Spyrus develops hardware-based security, which is designed to protect sensitive data used by the Department of Defense (DoD) data. The partnership with Kingston will enable Spyrus to reach markets in over 100 countries. Features such as Suite B compliance and the XTS-AES mode of operation are some of the advanced cryptographic capabilities that will be incorporated into Kingston's DataTraveler drives.
Currently, Kingston has two DataTraveler variants for enterprise customers -- under the Vault series. These drives are manufactured with materials that can withstand rough use and also incorporates hardware-based encryption technology. Drives using Spyrus technology will enter the market in the fourth quarter.
