By

Mumbai, Mar 28, 2008
To strengthen its retail presence in the PC business, LG Electronics India, a wholly-owned subsidiary of LG Electronics, South Korea, has joined hands with big retail chains like Croma, Reliance Digital, Metro Cash and Carry, Jumbo Electronics, Hypercity, Next, E zone and More (the Aditya Birla retail chain).
Commenting on the new initiative, V. Ramachandran, director-sales & marketing, LG Electronics India, said, "The sudden growth in the large format retail sector has taken everyone by surprise. The vendors believe that the market would be pretty big, running into hundreds of millions of dollars. We have received overwhelming response from the consumers and the partners on this initiative. LG's nationwide presence and strong service network has a critical role to play in the success of the same."
According to Ramachandran, consumers enjoy the touch and feel factor as far as electronic items are concerned. "Also, it is encouraging for the partners to see the expansion in our retail forte. It is indeed a win-win situation for us as far as consumers and channel partners are concerned," he added.
LG has placed trained promoters at all the outlets. Apart from focusing on branding and display, the company is also working towards exclusive models for the large retail chains. Currently, LG is selling its latest range of widescreen notebooks the E200 and E300 - through the Croma retail chain. At present, Croma has 17 stores in the country.
