Lenovo Opens First One-stop Store in India

By ChannelTimes Staff
Mumbai, Oct 09, 2009 1731 hrs IST

Lenovo today announced the inauguration of its first complete brand experience zone for its customers, who will now be able to experience all of Lenovo s products from its IdeaPad and IdeaCentre range of consumer PCs to ThinkPad and ThinkCentre range of PCs for businesses.

Located at Nehru Place, New Delhi, the flagship store will deliver an end-to-end process guidance to choose the right product for customer requirements, post-sale support and warranty support, all under one roof. Lenovo plans to introduce and showcase brand new products first in this store and then take these products to other Indian retail outlets.

According to Chen Shao Peng, senior vice president (Emerging Markets), Lenovo, "This store has been designed to reflect the new look and feel of Lenovo stores internationally similar to the best-in-class Lenovo stores in China as well as elsewhere in the world."

Amar Babu, managing director, Lenovo India, said, "We have expanded our portfolio to better serve our customers especially in our IdeaPad and IdeaCentre range. We are also leaders in the All-in-One PC category the only vendor to offer premium, mainstream, and entry 'AIO' models. "

Lenovo also introduced in its new store a new product for the consumer segment a new designer variant of its popular netbook line, Lenovo IdeaPad S10-2, which it claims is among the thinnest and lightest netbooks available in the market. Lenovo also showcased the super-thin and light-weight 14" screen corporate notebook PC the ThinkPad T400s.

Apart from this new store, Lenovo has two smaller exclusive outlets at Nehru Place -- Unique Infoways and Lenovo Exclusive Store.

With a Clearline focus of LES now doing reatail and RD's doing distribution business, i think Lenovo has done something right. A good inititative. this kind of stores will help to educate customer in a more better way. Keep it up, don't loose the momentum now.

Good initiative...Such initiatives in last few months have helped in gaining back the lost market. Lenovo has startted selling again & moreover the acceptibility of the products & brand has achieved the new heights. As a lenovo partner we see a good future in this business in terms of profitability.

very nice..I am sure the concept will be replicated nation wide soon and that will help not only lenovo but the partners also..they way lenovo is trying to come back and gain market share which it had lost to competition in last few months..these new initiatives shoudl help...on one side lenovo is getting into hard core retailing with les and such stores but ..on teh other hand it is supporting more to the new RD business which is kiiling the profitability etc of the LES business by its very bad MOP. Hope Lenovo Team acts fast .............
