Linksys Connects Partners to SMBs
By

Mumbai, Jul 4, 2007
To help its partners expand their share in the ever-growing small business segment, Linksys - a division of Cisco Systems - plans to roll out a global Linksys Partner Connection (LPC) program from August 2007.
The company aims to position itself as the vendor of choice in the small businesses segment, where it sees a strong growth opportunity. Sanjeev Gupta, regional sales director (north and south Asia) of Linksys, said, "The LPC program will encourage Value-Added Resellers (VARs) to sell our products."
Focused on channel partners who sell and offer Linksys Business Series and Linksys One product families, the program will have a two- tiered structure - LPC Registered Partners and LPC Business Elite Partners. The former is an entry point for partners and enables channel communication between Linksys and its partners, while the latter is for partners who specialize in foundational technologies (routing, switching, and wireless), storage, voice solutions, and Linksys One products. Once partners achieve the Business Elite status, they receive additional pricing discounts on Linksys Business Series and Linksys One Ready products, except those that require specialization.
According to Nigel Williams, vice president (worldwide channels organization) of Linksys, the improved Linksys Partner Connection program rewards partners for their pre- and post-sales capabilities, ongoing service capabilities, as well as their investment in Linksys technical capabilities.
Additionally, Linksys and Cisco announced that they will align partner programs and initiatives to drive growth and increase efficiencies for channel partners in the Small and Medium Business (SMB) market. Linksys will take advantage of Cisco's distribution capabilities to enhance its global reach, and enable distribution partners to build SMB initiatives across the brands. The companies plan to link the Cisco Certified Partner designations with the Linksys Business Elite Partner status in the coming months.
Linksys also announced a number of products, ranging from network storage to software enhancements, which target the SMB segment.
The program is expected to be launched in the Asia-Pacific Region (APAC) over the next 12 months.
