Max Secure Opts for the RD Model

Unfazed by the discouraging trends of regional distribution model (RDM) at certain quarters, anti-spyware vendor, Max Secure, has decided to adopt the RDM.
The company, which entered the Indian security space in April this year, has already appointed two regional distributors from the western region.
"Tying up with national distributors was not feasible for us at this point. National distributors would want to concentrate on bigger brands. We are looking at regional distributors because they will be more focused in selling our brand. We have covered Pune and Mumbai, and are looking at Delhi and Hyderabad, also," said Sanjay Pradhan, CEO, Max Secure, speaking to ChannelTimes. He informed that the company's primary focus is on the SMB, SME and home segments and regional distributors were better able to reach out to customers in these segments.
However, Pradhan reserved the names of the distributors that it has already tied-up with, owing to the company's policy and said that he would announce the same in three weeks time.
"This is a great opportunity for partners to enter a new business space because there is no other company that is dedicated to anti spyware software. We are looking out for only a few focused partners to build up a good partner-vendor relationship," said Pradhan, stressing that the USP of the company's anti-spyware software is that it requires minimum after sales service because of its efficiency.
"We would expect the partner to provide any first line of after sales service support, for which we will train them," he added. Max Secure had announced earlier this year that it would be appointing 90 channel partners across the country by December 2007.
