Microtek Launches Scanmaker 9800XL Scanner

Microtek has made an addition to its ScanMaker product family, the ScanMaker 9800XL, in the A3 scanner segment.
ScanMaker 9800XL is being launched through its national distributor, Mumbai-based Rashi
Peripherals, that has 25 branch offices all over India.
ScanMaker 9800XL is a high-resolution professional A3-size scanner that
features 1600x3200 dpi resolution, 48-bit color and Dmax of 3.7.
It also has a triple-interface structure (USB, FireWire, and SCSI-II), OCR
and optional Transparency Media Adaptor support.
The scanner supports network scanning in Windows. In addition, the
ScanMaker 9800XL provides high-volume X-ray scanning capabilities for
radiology professionals.
The Scanmaker supports multi-sampling with which each scanned
line is sampled multiple times to optimize signals. Multiple sampling
effectively minimizes signal fluctuation and artifacts, resulting in a
purer image output.
According to Sanjay Aggarwal, Business Manager, Rashi Peripherals,
"ScanMaker 9800XL will replace the earlier model Scanmaker 9600XL.
Since both scanners were meant for professional graphic design people
but ScanMaker 9800XL will be a better choice as it has double the
resolution than ScanMaker 9600XL."
The ScanMaker 9800XL is priced at Rs 1,45,000 without the transparency
unit.
"The scanner comes bundled with ScanWizard Pro 6.1x scanning software and the Microtek Scanner ICC Profiler software.
ScanWizard Pro features a full palette of high-level color reproduction
tools, on-screen proofing, easy-to-use color correction with auto level,
and numerous preset options for the less experienced user," said Aggrawal.
He added, "Also included in the Scan Maker is the Kodak Digital Science
color management software and the Adobe PhotoShop Elements and the ABBYY FineReader Sprint OCR, allowing the user to convert scanned text to editable text."
