Moser Baer Launches Gold Scheme For Partners

Moser Baer India Ltd., India's largest magnetic optical storage media manufacturer and world's third largest, has rolled out a new scheme for channel partners, to push its products and establish its brand in A-, B- and C-class cities.

Called "Sone Ka Fayeda, Moserbaer Ka Vaada", this scheme is valid for all resellers and dealers buying Moserbaer branded products from any one of the sub-distributors of Tech Pacific. However, the corporate resellers would be required to buy material directly from Moser Baer's national distributor Tech Pacific.

Under the scheme, resellers buying material worth a minimum of Rs 1,25,000 from the sub-distributors will be given a gold coin weighing 8 grams. Buying a minimum of Rs 80,000 will fetch a 5-gram gold coin and resellers buying material worth a minimum of Rs 50,000 would be given a 3-gram gold coin.

The scheme is valid from July 1 to July 31, '03 for all resellers in the A- and B-class cities. For C-class cities, the scheme will be on till August 31, '03.

Deepak Shetty of Moser Baer India said, "We have successfully targeted the metro-level markets. So we are now focusing on expanding our reach among the channel partners especially in the B- and C-class cities. This scheme has been launched in line with this focus."

“Through this scheme we are also trying to create a channel push for our products, since customers in these areas still do not know what Moserbaer is," he added.

On the C category cities, Shetty said, “For our resellers in these cities, we have given the same target as others, but have extended their time period. Our plan is to push the products initially, the second time round the customer will definitely come back asking for our brand."

Schemes are definitely important. It builds awareness as well as boosts up sales. However, the scheme's got to be clever. There's hardly any new idea left. For instance, if somebody notes the prevailing rate of 22 carrat gold, the MBI scheme works out to be a game of 3%. Presentation and implemention of the scheme and the subsequent follow-ups would make all the difference. Best wishes to Moser Baer!

Sir, As said by shetty,setting targetsales for c cities as same for other cities is a improper calculation. Since lot of other Genunine as well as competitive price cd are sucessfully in these markets.Moreover subdistributors appointed by techpacific are selling without any bill. Howfar the cds can be given 100% replacement.Please go in for grassroot level marketing. Not setting a target and free gifts allotment. Thank you,
