Gartner's April 2009 report, Market Share: Network Attached Storage/Unified Storage, Worldwide, 2009, has acknowledged Netgear, a provider of networking solutions, as the worldwide leader in sub-$5,000 business Network-Attached Storage (NAS) systems. As per the report, the networking vendor also ranks among the top six vendors in the overall business NAS market.

In the report, Gartner compared NAS/unified storage solution vendors' end-of-year results from 2008 to those of 2007 and found that Netgear consistently ranked highly.
For vendors with solutions priced at less than $5,000, Netgear had taken 23 percent of the market share in terms of vendor revenue. Amongst vendors with solutions priced at less than $25,000, the vendor was ranked third in vendor revenue, delivering a revenue growth rate in excess of 127 percent.
