New Software Secures Laptops Against Theft
By

Mumbai, Apr 12, 2008
Micro Technologies (India), a global developer, manufacturer and marketer of IT-based security solutions, has designed a new software that can locate stolen laptops by leveraging the World Wide Web.
The new software, known as Micro LNTS (Lost Notebook Tracking System), is embedded on notebook hard drives, allowing systems to be tracked as soon as they are connected to the internet.
According to industry estimates, 97% of stolen computers are never recovered and 57% corporate crimes are linked to them.
When a laptop is loaded with Micro Lost Notebook Tracking System, the tracking-agent software silently connects with the company's monitoring center whenever the device is connected to the internet. If that notebook is reported stolen or lost, its location is tracked and the owner can recover the stolen property. Users may login to their web-based personal tracking and monitoring page through www.microlnts.net to view and trace where their laptop has been accessed from - that too from any corner of the world.
The software is far more efficient and competitive in existing low-end products available in the market including regular emails for computer/notebook activity, hide the documents that carry vital information, date-wise storage of data, misuse of any computer/notebook can be blocked at any point of time remotely by control setting, login intimation on mobile & email, remotely monitoring of user-specified URL/Document, list of installed software, etc.
The Micro LNTS-Corporate model especially keeps track of the whereabouts of each employee while traveling and the moment user logs in via the web, a report is generated with the complete details and is sent to a designated individual within the organization.
The software is available in 3 different models - Micro LNTS-Elite and -Premium for individual users and Micro LNTS-Corporate for large organizations and corporate use. The product can be bought online at www.microlnts.net.
