Panasonic Chalks out Plans for India

By Charu Khanna
New Delhi, Dec 22, 2007

Panasonic has devised plans to increase its share in the printing and imaging solutions market. As a part of its strategies, the company has announced the launch of 3 new laser multifunctional devices in India.

The vendor has introduced 3 MFDs catering to Indian market conditions, which include, KX-FLB882 (Rs. 25,999), KX-MB772 (Rs. 15,999) and KX-MB262 (Rs. 10,999). These printers would target different verticals like, IT, retail, enterprise and SMB verticals.

The newly launched MFDs from Panasonic are available via company's authorized resellers across the country. Ajay Madan, business head India of Panasonic said, "We are receiving positive responses from the channel community and we are sure to attain our desired targets."

The USP of the products is low cost per copy and in addition to that, the company is also bundling three toners in one pack.

At present, the company has 1500 dealers-cum-reseller and 250 system integrators, out of them 200 are authorized service partners. The company is trying to push the product through its channel partners and have identified around 150 to 260 channel partners for the same.

Kenji Anai, general manager, wired communication division of Panasonic said, "To have a strong position in the market, Panasonic plans to come up with right products and right incentives for the channel partners."

The company also wants to increase the visibility of the products through advertisement in newspapers and other media. Also, the company has plans to come up with more efficient, A-4 size colour MFDs, for Indian market.

In addition to that, the company intends to get into colour MFDs by 3rd quarter of 2008 to reach its targets.
