Plustek Unveils OptiCam M1+ Motorized Webcam

Plustek Inc, manufacturer of consumer, prosumer and professional imaging devices, announced the availability of its OptiCam M1+ motorized Web camera (Webcam) in India.

According to Karen Ku, vice president, Plustek Inc., "Designed to keep pace with today's broadband user, the new OptiCam M1+ is a triple-axis Web camera that pans left to right, up and down, has an onboard microphone and can focus its lens on objects as close as 15 mm. It works seamlessly with popular instant messaging applications such as MSN Messenger as well as with NetMeeting, a popular video-conferencing application. OptiCam users can grant their video chat buddies the ability to remotely control the host camera - making true video conferencing from the desktop a possibility. With these features, the OptiCam M1+ will appeal to professionals and long-distance family and friends, alike."

Specifications: a0dvanced color CMOS image sensor; 640 x480 (VGA); USB 1.1; 150-degree (lens pans 100-degree), 100-degree/sec; vertical view & speed 110-degree (lens tilts 55-degree), 100-degree/sec; still image capture up to 640x480 (VGA); video frame rate 30 fps @ 320 x 240 (QVGA), with recommended system; dimensions (D x W x H) 99 x 90 x 103 mm (camera only); power supply USB 5V 500mA (Bus power); LED 1, power indicator; weight 255 g.

System requirements: Microsoft Windows 98, 2000, Me, or XP, Intel Pentium II 400, Cerelon, AMD Athlon or higher processor (Intel Pentium III 500, Cerelon, AMD Athlon or higher recommended), 64 MB RAM or higher, 200MB free hard disk space available, CD-ROM Drive, 16-bit Color display adapter, Windows Compatible Sound Card and Speakers (Full-Duplex Sound Card recommended), and one free USB port.

Software requirements: Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.01 or higher, Microsoft MSN Messenger 6.0 or higher, Microsoft Windows NetMeeting or higher, and Sound Card and speaker required for sound broadcasting.

The OpticSlim M12 and OptiCam M1 is available in India at a price range of Rs 5,390 onwards, respectively including applicable taxes through Plustek's exclusive national distributor TelExcell Information Systems.
