By

Mumbai, May 11, 2006
RSA Security announced its growth strategy and future road map for its India market, along with the appointment of Srikiran Raghavan, regional sales head, RSA Security India. Raghavan has been with RSA since 2002.
Ross Wilson, MD, RSA Security, South Asia & India, said, "From our initial focus on secure remote access and infrastructure security, we are now focused in solving core business issues that have information risk implications such as dealer management processes, e-procurement, user productivity enhancement and data protection. The Indian online security market is mature and is now poised to grow exponentially. We are expanding our footprint in the country with plans to open a Delhi office by the end of the year."
In India, RSA sees a potential market in technology sectors, banking, healthcare and BPO. It has 50 active system integrater partners who sell RSA security solutions and one national distributor, Select Technologies.
To motivate its channel partners in India the company recently launched a live partner portal. Commenting on its new initiative, Raghavan said, "Our sole aim is to make their engagement simple, efficient and profitable. For this purpose, there would be online training. The portal will combine knowledge empowerment and pursuit management, new customer acquisition strategies and other value-added incentives. The portal is live and has already received very good feedback. New incentives will be rolled out before the end of May 2006."
Apart from the metros, the company is focusing on emerging IT centers including the B and C class cities. It plans to open new sales outlets to strengthen its services and its first India development center in September 2006 in Bangalore, and then in Chennai and Delhi.
"RSA is hoping to announce new partnerships and progress in the next six months, as it believes there would be substantial change in security concerns among corporate and end-users. Currently, Microsoft, which has a strong presence in India, is an RSA Security partner," Raghavan said.
The company is partnering with the Government of India for some of their key projects in the Identity Management segment, which is one of its key focus areas, Raghavan added.
