RSG Plans to Focus More On Channel Business
By

New Delhi, Apr 14, 2006
Delhi-based RSG Infotech, the distributors for French brand Lacie and Apple reseller, is now shifting its focus more on business this year.
The distributor had been associated with the brand for quite some time now and was primarily pushing the brand directly in the market.
Elaborating on its new focus, Gulshan Pahwa, director, RSG Infotech, said, "We had been pushing Lacie products in the market through our partners, but most of the business has been done directly to create a mindshare for the brand. About 40 percent of the business comes from the channels while rest of the 60 percent comes from the direct model."
Going ahead this year, RSG intends to put more impetus on channel business for Lacie. It currently has 20 to 25 channel partners across the country and will be adding 25 to 30 more to this number in 2006. In the initial phase, the company will be targeting A class cities like Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore.
Pahwa said, "We are looking at specialized partners who have reach in specific markets like print and publishing, audio segment, video segment or the graphics segment. We would only bring in high IT channels to sell the brand since the products are best suited for such markets."
In addition to this, the company will open its retail outlet in the first week, which will be primarily a Apple showroom, but will also showcase other products pushed by RSG. Also, this year, the distributor is looking to promote Lacie LCD monitors in the market in a big way and has set a target of Rs 4 crore this year.
