Raj Das Joins Hitachi GST as Senior VP

Hitachi Global Storage Technologies (Hitachi GST) has appointed Raj Das as the senior vice president of worldwide marketing. Das will be responsible for worldwide product planning, strategy, positioning, promotion and fulfillment.
Das has nearly two decades of experience in leading product planning and marketing organizations in the storage industry. Before joining Hitachi GST, Das was the vice president at SGI (SGIC). There, he was responsible for product management, product and channel marketing, and outbound activities for the company's storage product division.
Commenting on the appointment, Shinjiro Iwata, executive vice president of Hitachi GST, said, "We are very pleased to welcome Raj to the Hitachi GST team. His proven marketing and product management expertise, technical background and leadership will play a key role in accelerating our worldwide marketing efforts."
Das also worked at senior-level product marketing positions at Brocade Communications (BRCD). He led product marketing at Brocade - where he managed the firm's entire product portfolio. Also, he was a vice president (product marketing) at McDATA and played a leading role in Brocade's acquisition of McDATA. In addition, Das directed product marketing groups at Sun Microsystems (JAVA), Tandem Computers and Amdahl Corporation.
