Raritan Unveils New Management Product
By

Mumbai, Mar 2, 2006
Raritan recently introduced a management appliance, CommandCenter NOC (CC-NOC), that monitors, notifies and reports on key aspects of an organization's IT health. Additionally, it provides proactive security features that reduce an organization's vulnerability to intrusion.
The company also unveiled a new service management architecture that integrates IT monitoring tools with out-of-band and in-band remote access solutions.
Through a comprehensive dashboard accessed using virtually any internet browser, the CC-NOC appliance provides current information on network and systems performance, hardware and software assets, as well as security vulnerabilities. The multifunction appliance addresses the key IT infrastructure and security management needs of mid-market companies, helping them to improve service levels.
Sev Onyshkevych, Raritan's marketing vice president, said, "Raritan is the first company to integrate IT monitoring and management capabilities with instant, remote access to IT equipment through KVM (keyboard, video, mouse) and serial-over-IP solutions IT organizations can now pinpoint potential problems and fix them more quickly, easily and cost effectively.
"For example, when CC-NOC sends an alert notification, it includes a link to the problem device. The link can be used by a KVM or serial-over-IP solution to securely access and facilitate repair of the target equipment from anywhere. This capability will be especially useful for our customers that operate CC-NOC in conjunction with Raritan's centralized access system, CommandCenter Secure Gateway."
CC-NOC, like CommandCenter Secure Gateway, is an element within Raritan's CommandCenter Service Management Architecture. This architecture, which embraces open standards, is also designed to integrate with third-party management systems, such as HP OpenView, IBM Tivoli and CA Unicenter.
Sanjay Motwani, country manager, Raritan India, said, "With the introduction of our service management solutions, we will be the first to combine the power of network, systems and proactive security management with secure, remote in-band and out-of-band access, helping customers identify problems before they affect service levels and fix them without leaving their chairs."
The plug-and-play CC-NOC appliances are now available worldwide through an extensive global distribution channel of VARs, systems integrators and Managed Service Providers. CC-NOC is available in three models to meet the needs of organizations with less than 100 employees to businesses with 2,500 employees.
