SAN Box Opens New Doors for Partners
By

Mumbai, Jul 30, 2007
Channel partners have yet another opportunity to target departments, workgroups, and branch offices with a Storage Area Network (SAN) box introduced by Netgear.
Christened Netgear ReadyNAS RNR4450 100EUS 1100, the SAN box is a piece of cake for the channel, as it has an embedded Linux operating system and doesn't require any additional software of per-user licensing requirements.
According to Atul Jain, country manager of Netgear (India), ReadyNAS RNR4450 brings enterprise-class storage to Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) customers at an affordable price point. Further, as the product is fully plug-n-play, neither the channels nor the user companies require any training to manage the storage device.
ReadyNAS RNR4450 comes with 4 Hard Disk Drives (HDDs) in a short rack mount design and is pre-configured for immediate use. It has a web browser interface and setup wizard to get the Network-Attached Storage (NAS) configured quickly with intelligent monitoring of battery backup devices. The product has a unique system management consisting of email alerts, Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP), and monitoring agent.
The product is available with Rashi Peripherals and Cyberstar Infocom at a price of Rs.150,000. It comes with a 3-year hardware warranty.
