SAP Asia Pacific Japan announced the continued momentum of the SAP Extended Business Program in Asia Pacific Japan (APJ). Sujit Mohanty, Head, Sonata Information Technology Limited, said, "The significant adoption of ERP technologies demonstrates enterprises drive to sustain their competitive advantage. Sonata delivers end-to-end SAP solutions and services to customers across industry verticals. Our Global Delivery Model and established approach to address business challenges help organizations to reliably and rapidly implement SAP solutions and transform business processes,"
He added, "The SAP Extended Business program has been instrumental in helping our partners receive access to SAP resources, which can further help them sell, implement, or develop SAP solutions." Looking ahead, Mohanty said Sonata is optimistic that it will be a partner of choice for progressive organisations which plan to implement or support their existing SAP installations, meet the needs of the expanding SME market and grow regardless of the market challenges.
Launched in 2008, the mid-market program delivers tangible value to SAP channel partners and companies associated with them. It further aligns SAP with select SAP PartnerEdge Channel Partners in order to develop the partners extended ecosystem in new geographies and verticals through the recruitment and development of program members. Hardware vendors, business consulting firms, resellers, and independent software vendors who join the program as members are recruited and managed by an SAP Channel Partner, in the role of acting as so-called Master Value Added Reseller (Master VAR). All program members are aligned with SAP and the SAP brand, participate in tailored enablement and demand generation programs; supported by their Master VAR who is authorized to re-sell SAP solutions in the midmarket.
Currently, eight select SAP Channel Partners act as Master VAR in the SAP Extended Business program in APJ; managing approximately 40 program members across the region. All members have access to SAP systems and resources, training and enablement, coaching and deal support for the SAP Channel Partner s SAP solution portfolio. Participation in the SAP Extended Business program is voluntary, free of charge and open to companies who are associated to channel partners in the SAP PartnerEdge program, working with SAP Business All-in-One or SAP Business One solutions.
The manner in which program members and VAR partners cooperate and provide compensation is at their discretion; the commercial relationship between VAR and customer remains unchanged by the new program.
