SNIA Announces Storage Networking Courses

Storage Networking Industry Association India (SNIA India), the apex storage networking industry body, will launch its two advanced storage networking courses in the third and fourth quarter of 2005.
SNIA had earlier conducted a "Train-the-Trainer" program for the two courses to equip the trainers with the necessary instruction, pedagogical and technical skills. Thirty experts from across the country were trained by storage networking gurus from DSI, Singapore, SNIA South Asia's training partner, for four days. These experts will now train the participants when SNIA kicks off its advanced courses in India.

Gupta, chairman, SNIA India, said, "We want our youth to know that there are immense employment opportunities in the IT sector beyond software development and they can evolve into sought-after professionals commanding enviable pay-packets through maintaining their focus and professional training. The two advanced courses conducted by us were very well-received by the trainers and we are confident that they will be of great assistance to us in furthering the storage networking education initiative in the country."
The two-day "SA 320-IP Storage Networking Essentials" course focused on introduction to IP storage, details on iSCSI (Internet small computer system interface), FCIP (fiber channel over IP), and iFCP (Internet fiber channel protocol). The second two-day course in the series, "SA 400-Enterprise Network Storage Backup and Recovery", was aimed at equipping the attendee 'trainers' with knowledge of backup and recovery architecture, methods and strategies; enterprise backup policy; Windows and Unix backup and recovery; database systems backup and recovery, NAS backup and recovery; and evaluation of commercial backups.
Besides the curriculum, the participants in SNIA's two advanced courses were also trained on necessary tutoring skills like instructor-led lecture and discussions and a mixture of case studies, review questions, group assignments and a live laboratory tour, which all the participants shall be receiving during the courses.
Within first year of its inception, the association has already trained 20 trainers on the beginner-level courses, "SA 100-Introduction to Network Storage" and "SA 110-Essentials of Storage Networking". These trainers have further trained 200 people in the country from across the industry including storage vendors, system integrators, channel partners and distributors, consulting organizations as well as software development businesses, the association said.

My friends have given the Details NetApps training center don't entertain individuals entry, they train only if you will be send from your compnay side. The course Fee is 1.75Lac + 12.36 Tax for 5 days course in Banglore. And this course is being conducted once in every 4 months. |
