Samsung Extends Warranty on Keyboards & Mice

To infuse fresh impetus into its input devices business, Korean IT giant Samsung has announced warranty extension on its range of keyboard and mice from the existing one year to two years.
The vendor has also appointed Delhi based Champion Computers and Mumbai stationed distribution house Savex as its national distributors for input devices.

Conceding that during the recent past Samsung's competitors in input devices category have gained an upper hand, David, associate, overseas marketing, Samsung Korea, said, "The demand for Samsung brand keyboards and mice has seen a comparative downtrend during the last couple of months, giving enough scope to the competition to raise their heads. But as we consider India an important market place now, we want business to once again acquire an aggressive momentum. We have embarked on some significant changes in our go-to-market strategy under which we have partnered with two national distributors who would provide the required market reach for our products."

David added, "The two-year warranty on Samsung keyboards and mice will magnetize customers to the brand and eventually we would regain the position of top-of-the-line players once again."

Meanwhile, Samsung has also introduced in the market new models of Bluetooth-enabled keyboards, multimedia keyboards, combo packs of wireless keyboard with optical mouse.

On being appointed the national distributor for Samsung input devices, Kapil Wadhwa, director, Champion Computers, said, "We have been associated with Samsung since long and it is our pleasure that the company has appointed us national distributor for its inputs devices products. To further the reach of Samsung products, we will position the products through our existing set of channel partners who already have the knack for aggressive selling."

On the issue of appointing new channels Wadhwa said, "We are extensively represented by our partners force at every geographical territory of the country and if some more channels want to sell Samsung products we can rope them in."

i chandrashekar shetty bought monitor from boss computer in mumbai 17 lcd monitor in which thre was a printer free 6 months have passed but i have not received the printer it is absolutly cheating with the innocent customer

Of late samsung is resorting to cheating its customers. I have bought a TFT in March with the free laser printer offer. This free printer is still not delivered even after accepting the claim with Service charges 5 months back.Samsung is only giving false promises to various follow ups. This trend would not do any good for a brand like Samsung, especially at a time when it is loosing market share steadily in all major IT products. We (few affected customers) are in the process of slapping a case of cheating against this Korean Chaebol....

please advice me how to take the warrenty and whome to contact for this matter. Its nice to knowing these extended service from SAMSUNG but they have to first consentrate of quality of product and after analysis they have to take right way of service for product.

samsung service is the worst service i have ever seen(particularly in osd's).whatever they repair needs repairing again after two days.its a vicious circle. be ready to visit the service center again and again and again for the same product what they repair and give back to u.

BETTER LATE THAN NEVER but we were expecting it to be 3 yrs as samsung is supposed to be a trend setter and a market leader in terms of aggressive pricing and support. BUT what happens to the existing stocks we have sold so far from Samsung korea. ANY Way Ask your Mumbai Distributor to get in touch with us if intrested as we have a good record of selling samsung kbd na dmice in the Mumbai market.

It's good idea of samsung to increase of warranty. But basicallay problems arrived when a customer or reseller facing the problem in the items like keyboard or mouse or any input device and going to dealer or distributor to replace it. bca'z it taking so much time to get replaced or repaired that item. e.g. we are facing the problem of replacement in TVSE GOLD KEYBOARDS. WHAT DO U THINK ABOUT?

Two years warranty? Does Samsung know the meaning of after sales service? They have to have a refresher course when it comes to service. Its just pathetic and it gets worse day by day.

We are dealing in all Samsung products and promote it in our showroom at Bhavnagar for quite some time. This letter of mine is specially to wake you up to save the prestige of Samsung products among the end- customers who have trusted your marketing campaign through News Papers, Brochures, Emails for the ML-1520P Printers where Samsung has promised customers about certain numbers of print-outs. We have witnessed all those campaigns and also we are witnessing present quality of toners which are delivered alongwith the printer unit. All toners are defective in a sense that it weighs below 800grams which is not under warranty even as per Samsung's own Service guidelines. These toners are giving only 40 to 50 percent of print-outs of what Samsung has loudly advertised earlier. It is a matter of high regret that we are loosing business on this ground in our showroom bcoz of such cases with your ML-1520P. We are very unhappy with the approach of your service engineers who are trained by you to protect your mistakes. They are practically not servicing the toners. It seems very clearly that they are at your "service" and not for the printer buyers. We request you to confess this error by announcing in news papers and start a drive of free replacement all over the country to sustain customer's loyalty in Samsung products.

It is a very good news for IT resellers and samsung value added customers but please let me know that , Who will provide the service ??? the Samsung IT Service plaza or champion computers ???????? ... and this extended warranty will be applicable on current stock lying in the market or new manufacuring device fron Jan-06 onwards .......... ple reply with clarity.

WHAT ABOUT THE PRODUCTS WHICH HAS BEEN SOLD THRU SALORA ? SALORA HAS STOPPED SELLING SAMSUNG PRODUCTS AND HAS ALSO STOPPED GIVING WARRANTY SUPPORT.

Savex who used to deal in Samsung keyboards ealier had offered third rate warranty support.Also there is no mention of Samsung keyboard and mice anywhere in Samsungs websites. In monitors Samsung have "grown" from number 1 to number 2. Hopefully with their marketing strategies, they can expect similar "growth".
