Samsung Opens First IT Brand Shop in India

By ChannelTimes Staff
Mumbai, Jul 01, 2009 1623 hrs IST

Samsung has opened its first IT Brand Shop at Arihant Arcade, Ameerpet in Hyderabad today.

Inaugurating the Brand Shop, JungSoo Shin, President & CEO, Samsung South West Asia said, "Retail is a big thrust area for us as we are looking at enhancing our consumer interface this year. The IT Brand Shop will represent a one stop shop for all Samsung IT products, ranging from Notebooks to Printers. In the coming months, we plan to set up IT Brand Shops in the other metros as well."

The Samsung IT Brand Shop showcases Samsung's entire range of IT and Digital products like notebooks, netbooks, monitors, printers, consumables, digital camera, digital camcorders, MP3 players, mobile phones and IT accessories like laptop bags, headphones, etc. Samsung has created an 'Experience Zone' to encourage consumers experience the products on site.

"The Samsung IT Brand Shop will go a long way towards enhancing the consumer interest and awareness on Samsung IT and digital media products like cameras, camcorders, etc. since they will experience the products in an interactive, lifestyle environment," expects Shin.

In addition to exclusive IT Brand Shops, the company is also setting up IT displays within the existing Samsung Digital Plazas. Samsung has around 300 Digital Plazas for its consumer electronics products in the country at present. Samsung IT Products are also available through large format retail stores like Croma, e-zone, etc. as well as in its Printer Demo Zones in Delhi, Chennai, Bangalore and Coimbatore.

What do you think about Samsung's retail strategy?
