Sanovi Gets Completely Channel Centric
By
Sonal Desai
Mumbai, 25 Jul 2008, 1210 hrs IST
Start-up DR applications company, Sanovi will sell its products only through its channel partners.
The company signed Wipro as its system integrator and Ingram Micro as its national distributor in the last quarter. It signed the dotted line with iValue last month. It will appoint channel partners in the Middle East by the end of this quarter.
While the company is currently targeting the BFSI and the manufacturing segments, it has plans to tap the telecom and the oil and gas industries in the near future.
P. P. Subramanian, the company president and CEO in a recent conversation with Channel Times said that it will scout more channel partners in Delhi, Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad and Mumbai to scale presence in these metros.
He said that the partners will be trained on implementation. "Depending on the IT architecture and infrastructure, we will perform DR drills, and the partners will play an active part from level two onwards. We are looking at better integration skills in partners who can play a hands-on role, since we want to sell all our products through them."
The partner should be reliable, and should have the ability to execute large projects and should be able to ramp-up to increasing customer demands, Subramanian said.
He said that Sanovi has already developed a CoE in Bangalore to train partners. It is essentially a lab with replicas or storage, servers and other IT architecture to give partners a real-life scenario of the problems they could encounter during the DR drills. "Going forward, we have plans to develop such CoEs at our partner sites."
Subramanian said that the company expects the partners to invest in field support, sales and pre-sales support, setting up PoCs, etc. He said that the company will share a part of the revenues earned from selling the application with the partner, but will also offer them a choice of earning recurring revenues through maintenance and service.
