Mumbai, May 24, 2007

Seagate announced the availability of its FreeAgent family of data movers in India. All Seagate FreeAgent desktop and portable solutions has unmatched five-year limited warranty, and will be available via their distributor, Fortune Marketing, as well as major IT retailers across the country.

"With the FreeAgent family of data movers, Seagate is moving beyond traditional storage. As the digital generation creates and consumes increasing amounts of content, consumers are demanding user-friendly storage solutions that provide anytime, anywhere access," said Rajesh Khurana, country manager for India and SAARC countries, Seagate.

Elaborating further on the product, he said, "Our FreeAgent family of data movers is an exquisite offering of storage solutions and digital content management tools into a seamless device for work or home. It s literally about being able to escape the confines of your desktop or your laptop and have your content available to you where you need and when you need it."

The FreeAgent Pro data movers provide consumers, creative professionals the freedom to stay connected to it. They combine desktop and online solutions that provide access to the content from anywhere, share it with anyone, and sync it to almost anything.

The fully integrated solution allows consumers to automatically synchronize content they select wherever they want it like automatically transferring the latest project files to a flash drive, copying email and contacts from Microsoft to an iPod

The FreeAgent Pro data mover will include a trial offer of 500 megabytes of online space, which is free of charge for the first six months and upgradeable anytime. Access to the Seagate Internet drive will be password-protected, so users can safely provide access to their content to trusted friends and family.

All FreeAgent Pro data movers include a interchangeable modular interface system that provides both a combo USB 2.0 and eSATA interface (standard), or dual FireWire 400 ports for easy connection to a variety of computing devices.

Designed for college students, mobile consumers and business professionals, the Seagate FreeAgent Go makes anywhere computing possible by putting your desktop in the palm of your hands.

Unlike many portable storage solutions that merely store, protect or synchronize files between PCs, these give the freedom to carry the computing environment without having to haul around your laptop or desktop PC.

When finished, the private information and personalized settings are stored on the FreeAgent Go data mover, not on the host computer. They can run more than 100 free and pay-to-use applications on any PC without installing or storing programs on borrowed computers. The RRP for FreeAgent Go is Rs 5,980 (80GB), Rs 7,700 (120GB) and Rs 9,200 (160GB).

Designed for a broad array of computer users, from corporate and small business professionals to consumers and students, FreeAgent desktop drives are ideal for anyone to extend their digital treasure chest of photos, movies, music, games and documents.

It provides add-on storage for people to gather and access their content in one place. They are PC and Mac compatible with a USB 2.0 interface for easy connection. RRP for the FreeAgent desktop is Rs 7,500 (250GB), Rs 8,500 (320GB) and Rs 13,000 (500GB).
Will this product help Seagate's market growth?
