Siemon, a global provider of network cabling solutions, recently launched a new online resource dedicated to sharing strategies on environmentally-responsible IT network practices as well as examples of Siemon's own approach to green operations.
This online resource - Siemon.com/green - offers actionable advice on reducing the environmental impact of IT activities through cabling best practices. This new site specifically addresses the US Green Building Council's LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) program and its global counterparts, providing both an overview of these programs and cabling strategies designed to secure green building credits.
Rajesh Kumar, country manager of The Siemon Company, said, "Through this initiative we are trying to address a number of cabling-related areas in which a greener approach to IT is possible. This is part of our strategy to create a healthy working environment for our consumers across the globe."
Through the website, Siemon also provides information on Siemon's ISO 14001 certification and global RoHS (Restriction on the use of Hazardous Substances) initiatives, including education about RoHS compliance, and Siemon's company-wide pre-deadline compliance actions.
Headquartered in Connecticut, USA, Siemon has global offices, manufacturing and service partners throughout the world.
