Siemon Unveils Category 6A UTP Patch Cords

The Siemon Company, manufacturer of network cabling systems for the commercial enterprise, government and industrial markets, announced the launch of its enhanced line of Augmented Category 6 UTP patch cords/equipment cords in India.
Consisting of 10G 6A UTP BladePatch and MC cords, this line meets or exceeds all pending 10GBASE-T standard requirements, including alien crosstalk parameters, the company claimed.
Rajesh Kumar, country manager, The Siemon Company, said, "Although our augmented category 6 UTP solution was independently tested to the pending standards requirements some time ago, we have worked continuously to improve it. These new patch cords improve alien crosstalk performance without sacrificing cord flexibility. In our 10G 6A F/UTP and fully shielded category 7/class F TERA solutions, we eliminate alien crosstalk through screened and shielded cable and connectivity. In our 10G 6A UTP solution, we've beaten it through yet another Siemon innovation."
Both the 10G 6A UTP BladePatch and MC cords achieve optimum alien crosstalk performance through a patent-pending dual-jacket design. This layered outer jacket configuration provides excellent protection from any crosstalk noise or other interference generated by nearby cables without significantly increasing cord diameter. With an outside diameter of 0.29 in. (7.4mm), the 10G 6A UTP BladePatch and MC Cords can be routed through standard patch cord management products, such as horizontal and vertical cable managers.
Cord routing and management is also facilitated by the 10G 6A UTP jacket configuration. These cords feature a "stepped, dual-jacket" design, which removes the outer jacket layer about 6 inches from each plug end, thereby improving patch cord bend radius and flexibility from the patch panel or equipment to the cable manager. This allows the cords to maintain superior alien crosstalk performance while maintaining the same bend radius and routing flexibility of non-augmented cords.
The 10G 6A UTP BladePatch is a RJ45-style patch cord that can be inserted and removed without the need to depress an external latch. The patented push-pull internal latching mechanism locks the plug into position when pushed into the outlet or patch panel, and is removed by simply pulling back on the boot.
All 10G 6A UTP cords are compatible with standards-based RJ45 outlets and meet FCC68.500 and IEC 60603-7 specifications. These UL-listed and 100 percent transmission-tested patch cords are also compatible with both T568A and T568B wiring schemes, which accommodate all Ethernet applications. It features Siemon's patented cross-pair metallic isolator and 360" crimp, which maintain pair geometry and eliminates deformation.
