New Delhi, May 15, 2006
Delhi-based Simmtronics Semiconductors has introduced new microdrives in the capacities of 5 GB, 6 GB and 8 GB.
RishiRaj Jailetly, senior manager-marketing, Simmtronics Semiconductors, said, "The 5 GB microdrive is already available in the market and is priced at Rs 4,800 while the 6 GB and 8 GB drives will be available shortly. The drive fully supports the USB 2.0 interface for data transfer and is 'plug and play' compatible with Windows."
Currently, Simmtronics has about 5,000 resellers under its belt and about 40 regional distributors across the country. The company plans to add new regional distributors especially in the North-East region.
"We already have a base in Kolkata and we now plan to add more regional distributors in places like Siliguri, Guwahati and other North-East states. In addition to this, Bihar is another state where we are looking to put emphasis on," Jaitely said. The company intends to appoint one or two RD in each of the cities who would further cater to the reseller base.
The company also has two manufacturing units in the country with one located in Rajasthan and the other in Uttranchal. It is targeting a turnover of R 100 crore plus revenue this fiscal.
