Simmtronics Semiconductors, the global manufacturer and distributor of memory modules, motherboards and graphic cards, has formally announced the setting up of its sales and service support offices in 10 more cities, including several B & C class cities, across India in the first phase.
Besides the existing facilities in Delhi, Mumbai and Pune, the new offices will be set up in Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Chandigarh, Chennai, Kochi, Ghaziabad, Hyderabad, Indore, Jaipur and Kolkata by the end of February 2008. In its second phase of expansion planned for March 2008 onwards, the company will set up offices in 7 more cities taking the total count of its network offices in India to 20.
According to Indrajit Sabharwal, managing director, Simmtronics Semiconductors, there are about 61 B & C class cities in India which, besides metros, hold immense business potential in the days to come. "As we foresee a significant increase in the demand for all our products in the immediate future, we want to further our presence and set up offices in territories unrepresented. We intend being closer to our direct billing partners and customers such that we are able to support them when it comes to sales and service, respectively."
The company offers a comprehensive range of Simmtronics motherboards for both Intel and AMD Platform, with chipset from Intel, Nvidia and ATi. The motherboards are available for value, main stream and performance segments and the comapny is targetting to sell about 30,000 units every month. Simmtronics also has a tieup with Nvidia to provide a comprehensive range of graphic cards based on Nvidia chipset and has plans to sell 15,000 graphic card units every month.
Simmtronics has also announced that it will do away with the traditional distributor model and will have 800 direct billing partners (DBPs) under its fold - reporting to its network offices across the country. It is currently appointing new DBPs and integrating the existing resellers into the fold to further consolidate its position in the market.
On the service front, the company has announced walk-in warranties, which means that customers simply need to connect to the closest network office and the applicable warranties shall be honored. This circumvents the need for an ASP (authorized service partner) network. Besides, customers feel more assured being serviced by the direct office rather than a third party, the company said.
Simmtronics provides 24x7 support- technical as well as sales, ex-stock availability, promotions through collaterals and advertising, etc to its channel partners. At present, it has over 100 channel partners across the country.
