In a bid to educate channel partners on branded chips, Strontium Technology held a dealers' meet in New Delhi. More than 30 channel partners from northern region attended the meet.
Anshuman Gupta, Director, Strontium Technology, said, "We are educating partners on our solutions that are build on major branded chip of Hynix and Micron. Besides, partners should understand the need of quality and cost of ownership of a module, rather going for the lowest priced product or any private labeled memory players."
"Our aim is to become a top player in upgraded memory market at a very competitive pricing. Moreover, the growing demand for memory upgradation (in both desktop and laptop) is likely to fuel the demand for our products. We are seeing the demand of DDR 1 is tapering off in the market. Last year, 40 percent of revenues came from DDR 1, and this fiscal year our focus would be DDR2 and DDR3 memory module."
On the channel expansion, Ajay Kogta, Country Manager, said, "We have adopted regional distribution model for a deeper penetration in A, B and C class cities. Presently, we have more than 60 channel partners across India, and intend to have more than 100 channel partners by 2009 end."
Besides DRAM, Strontium will soon be launching the suites of flash card, and USB drives. "We are ready with our products, and are expected to roll out the products by next quarter. However, we'll come up with SSDs later," said Gupta.
