Subhendu Mohanty Gets Addl Charge at Motorola

By ChannelTimes Staff
Mumbai, Apr 8, 2008

Subhendu Mohanty, services director, networks business, Motorola India, has assumed the additional role of country lead for home & network mobility. In this capacity, he is responsible for business development, sales and services and existing client relationships in the home and networks space.

"Under Subhendu's leadership, we hope to achieve greater synergies in the wired and wireless broadband device and networks space. We are fortunate to have a professional of his abilities and he continues to be a valuable asset to the home and networks business of Motorola India and to the entire company," said Simon Leung, Asia Pacific president, Motorola.

Mohanty joined Motorola USA in 1993 and moved to India in 1997. Since then, he has served as director of operations for the CDMA business in India, as well as been project director for Motorola's alliances with Reliance Telecom, Pacific Bangladesh Telecom, MTNL and TATA Teleservices.

"I am delighted to take on the additional role, especially at a time when the telecom market in India is expanding at such a rapid pace. I hope to do justice to my new responsibilities by successfully fulfilling Motorola's commitment towards India," said Mohanty.

An MBA from George Washington University, Washington D.C., USA, Mohanty has 22 years of industry experience. He has received several awards from Motorola including the Leadership Essentials Award. He was also recognized by Motorola as one of the 'Top 3 Sales Persons' in Asia Pacific for 3 consecutive years from 2002 -'04.

In addition to his role at Motorola India, Mohanty also serves as head of the All India Engineering and Project Management Organization, currently supporting major networks projects in India.
