Sun Microsystems has partnered with Emerson Network to launch new Sun Modular Datacenter (Sun MD) D20 in India. The new offering comes equipped with Emerson's power and cooling infrastructure. Designed to meet growing IT requirements, the new offering can be deployed virtually anywhere in the country.
Speaking on the occasion, R. Vasudevan, Vice President (Enterprise Solutions), Emerson Network Power India, said, "At Emerson, we are committed to provide energy efficient integrated solutions for power and cooling that will help our customers reduce operating cost without compromising reliability. We pioneered the concept of EnergyLogic that has been hugely successful and has helped customers reduce power consumption by almost 40%."
Peter Chadford, Director (Sales Development), APAC and Emerging Regions, Sun Microsystems, said, "Sun Modular Datacenter radically changes the way in which datacenter capacity is deployed. In emerging markets, there are many companies who are experiencing explosive IT growth, but are unable to meet demand due to infrastructure limitations. We are pleased to partner with Emerson to offer the Sun MD as an appropriate solution."
