Mumbai, Nov 15, 2006
Trade Association of IT, Mumbai (TAIT) plans to host a one-day interactive session with committee members and top IT manufacturers and distributors in the first fortnight of December to brainstorm on channel consolidation, discuss future of partners and the challenges posed by giant retail chains in year 2007.
Chetan Shah, secretary, TAIT, said, "With this initiative we intend to chalk out plans to promote the regular channel, which is being threatened by giant retailing chains. The idea is to see how the association can work with manufacturers and distributors, recognize threats and commence promotional drives for regular IT partners. This initiative would enable them to be prepared and face the identified threats and challenges and combat it."
Umang Mehta, spokesperson, TAIT, said, "This is the first time TAIT is introducing a one-day brainstorming session to predict the IT trend for the next year, how should the channel execute business and revive the assembler market. The committee members, along with top 20-30 manufacturers and some distributors, would work together to ensure a better future for the channels next year."
TAIT is currently finalizing the availability of all the top players in IT sector to map out plans for the next 12-18 months.
