TCS Appoints Its New Global Head of HR

By ChannelTimes Staff
Mumbai, Feb 6, 2008

Tata Consultancy Services, the provider of business solutions and outsourcing organizations has appointed Ajoyendra Mukherjee as the global head of human resources who has replaced S. Padmanabhan.

Mukherjee has been a key member of the corporate leadership team. He has been the Vice President and head of operations of the eastern region of TCS. He has also been given the credit to be a key architect for TCS' growth in eastern India, and has led the delivery of a number of challenging programs for TCS customers world-wide from the delivery centers located in eastern India.

As a welcome note, S. Ramadorai, CEO and MD of TCS said, "We would like to welcome Ajoy Mukherjee in his new role which he is well equipped to perform given his vast experience in this company and industry."

A graduate of BITS (Pilani), Mukherjee joined the company in 1980. He has held key leadership positions and headed TCS operations in Switzerland and South Africa too.

Mukherjee is also working as a director on the WEBEL board, a Government of West Bengal enterprise responsible for the development of Electronics & IT Industry in West Bengal and a member of IEEE and CSI (Computer Society of India).
Can Mukherjee carry forward TCS'success story?

Sir,The performance twist is publicity to safeguard. They have targteted even 4/3 rated folks if you did not belong to their state. I served in Tcs in chennai from outside as my first job in life, but they touched me without any rational. Regional based controllers in this organisation act more than terror groups here. I was chased by the HR and operation head and a maanager who was not my current supervisor with all kind of threat. And you are forced to resign without a retrenchemnet benefit or lawsuit since it is not termination. Even Terror groups has not done this. TCS borad is full with such people in it's borad and are creating vacancy for growth in thier region, the borad of TCS does not contain demographics like wipro has. Wipro has a great mixture and hence well balanced action is seen. It is good to see what Paddy let do to so many folks got it himself back. While salray reduction is good for India's competitive ness the industry need to sperad its wings across india so socio economic balances are created. i want to see TCS board and controllers to have a mix of folks. FC Kohli might have talked tough, but he did not favor one state what Ramadorai has done.He is building his family tree in TCS. It is time even for Ramdurai, N Chandra,Ravi V, Rajani Seshadri has to step down. Why should investors pay Ram crores when he did not perform even when he is still at the help of affairs? US should note down the discrimination these folks are creating in india after grabbing the USA jobs.

Ajoy Mukherjee is yet another star in the corporate sky filled with alumnus from BITS Pilani. Its indeed a matter of pride that Ajoy Mukherjee is a proud alumnus of Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS) Pilani Rajasthan which is one of the top ranking universities in India today.
