Tally Announces Tally Definition Language Tool

Tally Solutions has introduced a Tally definition language (TDL) application to enable its partners to provide solutions around it. The new TallyDeveloper application will be targeted towards the channels, students, Tally customers, independent software manufacturers, Tally service partners and enterprise partners.
Speaking on the launch of this tool, D. Kalyanaraman, global head-value services business, Tally, said, "Through this initiative, the entire ecosystem will benefit. It will provide value-added earning opportunity for the SIs, ISVs and other partners. TDL allows unrestricted usage of code and interacts closely in the underlying object-oriented database."
The TallyDeveloper tool is available in three different versions: academic, professional and the enterprise. However, the enterprise version is still to come in the market. The company aims to touch base with 3 lakh customers in a couple of months time.
Kalyanaraman informed, "This initiative will also help us to increase our channel base. Currently, we have a channel base of 5,000-plus and this (TDL) will help us add 300 service partners this year."
Tally has also introduced an extensive training and certification program to provide trained manpower to its partners. "As of now 80 percent of our revenue comes from South Asia and we intend to bring it down to 50 percent and increase the share from other markets," he added.
In addition to the Indian market, the company has its focus on the Middle-East. This new application is priced at Rs 22,500.
