The Stage Gets Bigger For COMPASS 2006
By
Rita Ghose
Mumbai, Nov 11, 2006
The Computer Association of Eastern India (Compass) said it is receiving overwhelming response from the channel community for the upcoming 11th annual IT exhibition, COMPASS 2006, scheduled to be held at the Netaji Indoor Stadium, Kolkata from November 17-20.
Pawan Jojodia, chairman of the exhibition committee, commented, "COMPASS 2006 is turning out to be very demanding. We already have 75 participants and many more requests for participation are coming in. There are no more stalls to give out and we have had to turn them down."
The theme of the exhibition this year is "Digital Convergence". "This exhibition is in line with Compass' initiative to promote trade in Eastern India and gives a platform for the channel and manufacturers to meet together and understand various technologies better," Jojodia added.
The main sponsors of the event this year are Logitech and Matrox, and there will be an awards night sponsored by Seagate. Devesh Das, in-charge of the IT department, Government of West Bengal, is scheduled to inaugurate the exhibition. Moninder Jain, director, Logitech South Asia, and Vinnie Mehta, executive director, MAIT, will be the guests of honor.
Pranay Agarwal, convenor of the exhibition committee, said, "Like every year we look forward to attract more than 1 lakh visitors from Eastern India. The IT industry has undergone a major change and COMPASS 2006 aims to attract Indian as well as foriegn IT companies to promote trade in Eastern India." Channel partners from not only Bengal, but also from the entire eastern India are expected to participate in the event.
V. K. Bhandari, CMD, Supertron Electronics and a participant, said, "We are excited because a large number from the channel community will be attending this exhibition. This year we expect a good crowd of users too at the exhibition." Another COMPASS participant, Vinay Dugar, CEO, Supreme Technologies, added, "Every year COMPASS draws a huge crowd. It serves as a platform wherein people can make buying and selling decisions under one roof. It also serves as a meeting ground for the channel."

Hi
I happened to go through your above write up on the most happening event of the year Compass 2006, as usual everyone sounds very confident and will definetly prove themselves in giving a perfect turn to this IT show. However, one thing in this write up draws attention to the fact that Compass 2006 has nowhere mentioned the President's opinion on this upcoming event, as we the common people happens to know that the President of such a highly renowned event of Eastern India is the pillar of the entire management then where is his views been published in your press release? Such ignorance has a great impact on the readers of the articles especially to those who are an ardent visitor of Compass since its inception.
A note of clarification will be highly appreciated. |

Sorry to say Barnali Madam, you work in the MOST FAMOUS LALA COMPANY in Kolkata called ASSAM COMPANY, request do not poke your nose into our issues.People like in Kolkata have made us far behind of the other Metros. Its SO KIND of yours that you had dropped in COMPASS-2006 but honestly this sort of comments are also not accepted. We being the organiser tried our level best ensuring we help out our participants to reach out every corners in marketplace. Considering it overall we might have missed out or we did not feel any requirement of publishing anything specific from any individual from organiser's team.I would request you be out of this issues as you have no role to play into this.It was absolutely our decision what would we publish. Its too really very surprising that you had expected us to give you a note of clarification, Madam, Please note we are not at all interested for any sort of appreaciation from a reader like you.Request you keep your appreaciation with you. |
