Trend Micro Enhances Security For SMBs

By ChannelTimes Staff
Mumbai, Feb 2, 2007

Trend Micro, antivirus and internet content security provider, has announced the latest versions of its Worry-Free Security Solutions in India for the small and medium businesses.

The newest version is built upon the success of previous versions by extending all-in-one integrated protection against malicious, emerging web-threats such as spyware.

Features from the previous version that remain include automatic threat protection against rapidly-spreading threats, an easy to monitor and maintain security dashboard, a comprehensive vulnerability assessment and the ability to check for desktops with outdated Windows system files from a single, central location.

The latest editions of Trend Micro Worry-Free Security for SMB have been designed to meet the security challenges faced by small organizations and channel partners, by providing a dedicated security product with single-step installation and deployment, plus proactive defences against traditional and emerging malware.

New functionality, for example in the flagship Client-Server Messaging Security 3.5, which enables customers to remain protected against web-threats such as spyware, rootkits, bots and phishing. In addition, other improvements include significantly enhanced anti-spam functionality due to advanced heuristics and faster updates, and new server-side quarantine features.

"For small businesses, the burden of managing unpredictable threats can be immense. Often companies do not have a full IT support team, and even if they do, they may not have dedicated security experts. These organizations want a single solution - with one single install and one product to manage - that can help them secure their business automatically", said Niraj Kaushik, country manager, Trend Micro India and SAARC.

Specifically designed for SMBs, all-in-one solutions products support the needs of small organisations and provide a comprehensive, reduced cost alternative to many of the more complex, resource-hungry repackaged enterprise solutions often offered in the marketplace to smaller businesses.

"According to our customer research, small business customers acknowledged that web threats have evolved and are highly sophisticated, and without dedicated security experts on hand small organisations can find many security solutions too complex for their needs," said Steve Quane, general manager, Trend Micro-SMB operations.

"By providing a specifically dedicated, easy-to-install product to customers, channel partners are able to maximise their return on sales revenue while providing a fast efficient support service to their customers," added Quane.

Available across various user platforms, pricing starts from Rs 1800 onwards per user.
