By
Sharmee Roy
New Delhi, May 12, 2006
Trend Micro has introduced its second generation network access control (NAC) appliance, Network VirusWall Enforcer, in the market as a part of its enterprise protection strategy.
Malav Patel, global product marketing manager, Network VirusWall, Trend Micro, said, "Network access control is a new market segment and it is expected to be about $3.9 billion by 2008. Today the key driver for this market is the internal source of threat."
Some of the key verticals where Trend Micro would be targeting this new launch are the software industry and BPOs, along with the banking and finance, the company said. The new NAC appliance is priced Rs 5 lakh onward.
Niraj Kaushik, country manager, India & Saarc, Trend Micro, said, "Along with the two national distributors, we have some big partners like HCL, Wipro and Ramco with us. For this new product, we are in talks with key partners from our current partner base who have the requisite expertise and have also been dealing with our first generation NAC products."
Kaushik added, "These partners would be both sales as well as service partners. Over a year or so, once the volume increases, we would bring in new partners to push this product after their training certification."
Currently, the company has two distributors, Ingram Micro and Select Technologies, in the country and 23 focused partners who are exclusively pushing its products.
