Viewsonic Demos New LCD Technology
By
ChannelTimes Staff
International Desk, Jan 6, 2006
Viewsonic Corp. today demonstrated, what it claims to be, the world's
fastest LCD technology and also introduced its widescreen LCD display
offerings across the company's entire desktop product line at CES 2006 in Las Vegas.
Featuring video response time of 1 millisecond (ms) across the entire color scale, Viewsonic's newest LCD technology - slated to launch later this year - will deliver fluid, full-motion images and optimized video performance for a variety of applications. The technology incorporates Viewsonic's proprietary OverDrive Chip architecture.
The new VX2025wm, VP2330wb, VA1912wb and VA2012wb widescreen LCDs offer diverse feature sets - tiling capabilities; sleek, ultra-slim bezels; and multiple digital inputs - with varying price points to meet a range of customer needs. ClearMotiv 8 ms video response times enable smooth, broadcast-quality, full-motion video, while the OptiSync technology supports multiple inputs, including direct DVI signals for optimum source-to-display synchronization, as well as compatibility to HD set-top boxes and other video sources.
Jeff Volpe, vice president of marketing, Viewsonic Americas, said, "The new models offer the ultimate sizes and value, making it possible for consumers and professionals to extend their desktop display investment for gaming, video and simplified viewing of multiple documents simultaneously."
The newest member of Viewsonic's Xtreme LCD Series, the 20-inch VX2025wm delivers 1680x1050 resolution, 300 nits of brightness and a 600:1 contrast ratio. For an estimated street price (ESP) of $449, the new LCD comes with a stylish slim-bezel black cabinet and hidden integrated stereo speakers.
Priced with an ESP of $1,299, the 23-inch viewable widescreen VP2330wb
combines a 1920x1200 native resolution, 250 nits of brightness and an 800:1 contrast ratio with PerfectSuite control software to simplify and automate processes such as color calibration, asset management and theft deterrence. Its ergonomic design features clean, minimal borders with pivot, height, tilt and 270-degree swivel options.
The 19-inch VA1912wb and 20-inch VA2012wb are targeted at the cost-conscious consumers, small/home office users and enterprise customers. Under a widescreen format, users can open multiple windows for comparing spreadsheets, organize data from a variety of sources, and analyze schematics and renderings for design development. The VA1912wb, priced at $329, and the VA2012wb, at $429, support visually-rich 3D gaming and native format viewing of high-definition (HD) video content, such as movies, digital television programming, accounting applications and inventory control.
The displays are compliant with the strictest safety and environmental
standards, including TCO and ENERGY STAR. The VA1912wb and VA2012wb are currently available and the VX2025wm and VP2330wb will be offered in February through authorized Viewsonic resellers, retailers, distributors and mail order. The displays are backed by a three-year limited warranty on parts, labor and backlight and are eligible for Viewsonic's optional Express Exchange program, which guarantees a replacement monitor within 48 hours, where service is available.
