WD Launches Next Generation Hard Drives

Western Digital - a hard drive manufacturer - has announced the introduction of its new range of external storage products for the Indian market. WD's new launches: My Book Premium ES Edition, 250GB WD Passport, Portable, and My Book Family aims to provide consumers with data protection, easy connectivity, and high capacity storage solutions.
The My Book Premium ES Edition external hard drive incorporates External Serial ATA (eSATA) and USB 2.0. PC and Mac compatible, the external hard drive includes EMC Retrospect Express HD 2.0 backup software and SmartPower - its drive management system that automatically powers the device on and off with the computer. The estimated price of 320 GB capacity of the product is Rs.6,950 and of 500 GB capacity is Rs.9,450.
The 250 GB WD Passport Portable Drive with a plug-and-play capability is a travel-friendly pocket-sized appliance. WD Sync software allows consumers to take desktop content with them by simplifying the synchronization of essential personal files and Microsoft Outlook data on a PC. The estimated price of 250 GB WD Passport Portable Drive is Rs.9,950.
The My Book Family, available with capacities of 750 GB and 1.5 TB, includes My Book World, My Book Pro, My Book Premium, and My Book Essential Editions. From remote access and sharing anywhere in the world to simple add-on storage and back up, the My Book family meets a variety of needs generated by today's increasingly large files from digital pictures, High Definition (HD) video, and music.
WD's My Book Pro Premium and Essential Editions offer plenty of room to back up and store precious data. The estimated price for the My Book family ranges from Rs.13,950 to Rs.34,950, depending upon the model and the capacity.
All these products will carry standard 3 year limited warranty except My book Pro Series that carries a 5 year limited warranty in India.
