WatchGuard Appoints Esys, Targets B & C Cities

WatchGuard Technologies has added Esys Information Technologies to its distribution network to leverage its strength in the tier two market.
Inflow Technologies is the other national distributor of WatchGuard in India.
In an exclusive chat with ChannelTimes, Ajit Pillai, country manager (India/Saarc), WatchGuard Technologies, said, "Today Esys has moved away from being box-mover to a value-added distributor. Also, we are looking to strengthen our national distribution network and one of the key reasons for opting for Esys is their strength in the B and C class cities."
The manufacturer is also looking to leverage through Esys's in-house telephonic sales team reaching across the country, from down south to the remotest corner in the North-East.
For Esys, this is its first product in the enterprise space. R. Govindan, regional director-South Asia, Esys Information Technologies, said, "Through WatchGuard we have made an entry into the enterprise space and we intend to have an entire range of products, from entry-level to high-end, in this space. We will be looking at a different set of partners to push these products."
The distributor plans to appoint 150 SI partners who are already present in the enterprise segment. The process of setting up this network is expected to be completed in three to four months across metros and non-metros, Govindan said.
