By
Rita Ghose
Mumbai, Nov 22, 2006
Denying recent media reports that Sneha Chadda has been appointed as Channel Head for WatchGuard India operations, Ajit Pillai, the company's country head, confirmed to ChannelTimes that Chadda has been appointed as channel communications manager. He also pointed out that he still handles the channel as a whole for WatchGuard.
Pillai said, "We are value adding a channel communications manager to WatchGuard s high pitch model to integrate the entire WatchGuard channel in India. As channel communications manager, Sneha has a major role as a value-add to this model. She will bridge the gap between vendors and our virtual sales people. She has about six years' experience in channel and customer relationship management."
Elaborating on its model, Pillai said, "WatchGuard's high pitch model comprises three people appointed in a particular region called WatchGuard Secure partners. The chief function of these partners is to train and lead channel partners in the region. Currently, WatchGuard has about nine people dedicatedly handling the channel. Under them, three kinds of partners, namely, Expert, Professional and Associate partners, working at different levels of commitment with WatchGuard, are placed. Currently, we have 80 channel partners consisting of five Expert partners, around 35 Professional partners and the rest Associate partners."
Another recent appointment is that of Delhi-based Mohit Puri as pre-sales consultant for WatchGuard s Virtual Technical People all across India. "His key function would be to build the skill sets and uplift these Virtual Technical People. He also will focus on winning new accounts and customers in the Delhi region. Earlier, he was with Portwise and Apara - both security solution providers," Pillai said.
The company has offices in Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore and Chennai.
