Mumbai, Jul 23, 2007
WatchGuard Technologies has unveiled its new strategic plan to focus on growth and profitability in the Indian market. The plan was unveiled in a 3 day reseller road show that took place in Delhi, Mumbai, and Chennai from June 21 to 23.
Over 200 resellers were introduced to WatchGuard's new strategic direction, which involves a host of changes including the appointment of a new country manager, new channel partner programs, and to launch new end-user promotions for their partners that reflect the company's partner-centric sales model.
"The objective of the road show was not just to personally present the exciting changes in store for India, but also to offer a forum for our channel partners to provide feedback and make real contributions in the direction of our future products and promotions," said Norbert Kiss, vice-president (Asia Pacific) of Watchguard Technologies.
The 3 cities Value Added Reseller (VAR) Council road show was hosted by Kiss and Tricia Lee, channel marketing manager (Asia Pacific) both based at WatchGuard's Asia Pacific headquarters in Singapore.
"We need to work closely with our reseller partners to ensure they have confidence in our products and market direction, and that they have the tools and support they require to deliver the service excellence our customers expect. To fulfill our commitment to growth and investment in India, we will be providing the necessary tools, direction, and strategic collaboration in-line with our partner-centric sales model," observed Kiss.
WatchGuard has appointed Sunil Sapra to the Asia Pacific Management team, as the country manager for India. Sapra brings nearly 14 years of IT experience to the company, including a deep knowledge of the channel and end-user marketplace having grown a number of businesses specializing in enterprise software, data storage, and security solutions.
"I will play a pivotal role in delivering the new WatchGuard channel partner program and end-user promotions announced during the road show. I look forward to providing guidance, direction, and support to WatchGuard's vibrant Indian channel partners," said Sapra.
Sapra has most recently worked at Hitachi Data Systems as regional director responsible for building its enterprise and modular storage business in north and east India.
