With a view to scaling up its market share and reaching out to more customers, Xerox India has announced its business plans for the year 2009. The company has taken a three-pronged strategy to strengthen its multifunction B&W and color printer business.
Elaborating more on it, Shailendra Sarup, Associate Director (Volume Group), Xerox India, said, "In May and August 2008, we launched 30 new products in MFPs and standalone printers, both B&W and color products line. Similarly, we have planned to roll out new product lines in the first week of November for SMB segment and emerging markets."
According to the company, SMB and upcountry market has lot of scope for revenue generation with around 20% growth for Volume Office products division. In an attempt to tap this growth, the company will provide robust offerings for SMB customers, in terms of products and service.
"The new identity of Xerox has been welcomed by our partners and customers. Now, in India, we are catering our business to A4 and A3 color MFPs and standalone laser printers. We have discontinued our scanner and flagship copier business," added Sarup.
On the partners' front, the company will launch a new roadshow - Color is everywhere - from Novermber 4, 2008 to December end. With this event, the company looks to engage more transactional partners and wider its reach into new 40 cities.
Moreover, the company will also look at maximizing the utility of A3 and A4 color MFPs and stand alone laser printers. As per the company, it has extended its reach from 70 to 200 cities in 2008, and will add 40 new cities by end of 2009.
Sarup also added, "Refilling market has also been eroding our growth plans, and to overcome this growing challenge, we will increase our printer supplies and consumables availability in the upcountry market. We also plan to introduce products with lesser page per cost and high ROI."
For this festive season, the company will also announce four new Diwali special schemes and buy-back offer for upcountry market partners on different product categories.
Lastly, Xerox has increased the price of its MFPs and standalone products by 5 % and supplies by 7% effecting from October onwards. "The financial turmoil has also affected Xerox value business whereas banks and insurance sector has stopped the fresh orders," said Sarup.
