Zyxel Communications, the global DSL router provider, recently announced the availability of its new P-2602R/RL-DxA series ADSL2+ VoIP IAD designed for end-users.
The P-2602R/RL-DxA series supports ADSL, ADSL2, ADSL2+ for high-speed internet access. RE ADSL (Reach Extended ADSL) is also supported on the P-2602R/RL-DxA for performance at greater distances. With standard SIP v2 (Session Initiation Protocol, RFC 3261) protocol compliance for internet phone services, end-users enjoy flexible VoIP services through SIP numbers that can be freely assigned to the two FXS POTS ports. Or use the two communication lines concurrently thanks to the G.729 capability.
According to Austin Huang, market development manager, Zyxel Communications Corporation, Taiwan, "With intelligent Quality of Service (QoS) management features on the P-2602R/RL-DXA series, network administrators can allocate network resources effectively to ensure quality of service for time-sensitive applications (such as VoIP and video-on-demand). This also prevents other bandwidth-hungry applications (such as FTP and file-sharing) from hogging network bandwidth."
The ICSA certified Zynos operating system gives state-of-the-art firewall protection based on Stateful Packet Inspection (SPI) and to prevent DoS attacks. Thus the P-2602R/RL-DxA series provides the first line of defense against hackers, network intruders, and other malicious threats. In addition, IPSec VPN helps ensure secured transmission between two sites, allowing secure connection between telecommuters and branch offices without expensive lease lines.
By implementing TR-104 on the P-2602 R/RL-DxA series, service providers can manage and configure the device remotely through Zyxel's Easy Provisioning Management using an Auto-configuration Server (ACS). Zyxe;'s TR-104 management solution is tailored to meet the service provider's needs. This function helps to significantly decrease installation and management costs, the company said.
In case of an unexpected power failure, users can still make regular PSTN phone calls with the user-friendly Lifeline support. This feature also kicks into work when the VoIP service becomes unavailable.
The P-2602R/RL-DxA series is available now through Zyxel's global sales network, including direct from the company and through partnered service providers.
There are six models in the P-2602R/RL-DxA series for various network configurations: P-2602R-D1A ADSL2+ VoIP IAD over POTS; P-2602R-D3A ADSL2+ VoIP IAD over ISDN; P-2602R-D7A ADSL2+ VoIP IAD over U-R2; P-2602RL-D1A ADSL2+ VoIP IAD over POTS with Lifeline; P-2602RL-D3A ADSL2+ VoIP IAD over ISDN with Lifeline; and P-2602RL-D7A ADSL2+ VoIP IAD over U-R2 with Lifeline.
