Zyxel Communications Corp., the DSL router provider, has released its new Zyxel P-336M 802.11g Wireless MIMO firewall router, incorporating its MIMO Smart Antenna and StreamEngine QoS technology, in India.
The new P-336M is targeted at home users seeking a 'no dead zone, no internet lag' wireless connectivity and easy-to-use home router, the company said.
The P-336M featuring 108Mbps Super G Wireless is backwards compatible with any IEEE 802.11b/g Wi-Fi certified device. Home users can access the internet wirelessly from backyard to bedrooms.
According to Milind Kamat, principal consultant-India, Zyxel Communications Corp., "The Zyxel P-336M enables users to run multiple internet applications without degrading the quality of internet experience. With its built-in StreamEngine technology, the Zyxel P-336M automatically prioritizes delay-sensitive traffic and eliminates internet lag."
To protect wireless data transmissions, the P-336M provides Wi-Fi Protected Access and WPA2 featuring AES standard. The P-336M has Stateful Packet Inspection (SPI) firewall and VPN pass-through; creating a secure connection at any remote location. Policies can be defined on the P-336M providing customized filters.
For users who have upgraded their Windows operating system to Microsoft Windows XP Service Pack 2, the P-336M can now be set up even easier using a USB flash drive and Microsoft Windows Connect Now (WCN). Connect multiple users to the network without any necessary configuration utilities or applications on each client.
The new firewall router will be available in India at approx Rs 9,350.
