Via Unveils EPIA MS Mini-ITX Motherboard

Via Technologies has announced the launch of new Via EPIA MS Mini-ITX motherboard, which has been designed for digital entertainment devices including flat panel televisions.
Steven S. Lee, embedded platform division head, Via, said, "The Via EPIA MS is poised to meet the needs of the fast-evolving market for personal electronics. Its intuitive design targets devices where aesthetics and ease of use can be achieved without compromising on full digital media functionality."
The motherboard has easily accessible onboard headers for the 6-channel audio, TV-out and USB 2.0 connectivity, with a low profile SODIMM memory slot.
The Mini-ITX mainboard features the fanless 1GHz VIA Eden ESP as a processor option, It is also available with a 1.2GHz VIA C3 or an 800MHz VIA Eden ESP processor, all offering security features through the on-die VIA PadLock Hardware Security Suite.
Measuring a mere 17cm by 17cm, the native x86 based VIA EPIA MS is compatible with all recent Microsoft Windows and a variety of Linux operating systems.
The motherboard is supported with up to six USB 2.0 connections, as well as S-Video and RCA TV-Out (NTSC & PAL) and 10/100 mbps fast ethernet for seamless broadband connectivity.
The VIA EPIA MS also offers support for a growing number of LVDS embedded LCD panels, has a PCI slot for expandability options, and is compatible with a full range of Mini-ITX chassis as well as FlexATX and MicroATX enclosures.
The VIA EPIA MS-Series Mini-ITX mainboard is available now through VEPD global distribution partners.
